About the Illinois Sociological Association

Who We Are:

The Illinois Sociological Association is the statewide association of and for faculty, students, and practitioners of sociology in the state of Illinois.

What We Do:

The Illinois Sociological Association communicates with and facilitates communication among sociologists and others who have an interest in the sociological perspective. We hold an annual conference to share what we’ve learned in our research, teaching, and experience, and to foster the intellectual and professional growth of our discipline. We invite faculty, students, and practitioners of sociology, criminal justice, political science, communication, social work, psychology, and other related disciplines to join us in our conversations and at our conference to support the intellectual development of all.
